Grand Opening of Newcastle’s Apple Store

Eldon Square West Wing Opening Day

I missed out on the grand opening of Newcastle’s very own Apple Store today due to being stuck at work.  So I had to resort to the Twitter collective of Newcastle to help share the buzz of opening day.  So due to the fact that I raped and pilliaged there content from opening day I first should give credit to the guys that were there.

Thanks to @ramshaw @Legion11 @purplelime @Kerry350 and @paul_a_smith for keeping me in the loop.

The frustration of not being able to make it to the store had me watching over twitter to keep in touch with how things were unfolding and also gauge how quiet the shopping centre I work in was going to be.  I work in the Metrocentre the closest shopping centre to Eldon Square and where the Apple Store was opening.

While the Buzz of the new Apple store was at its highest I decided to judge how much so compared to where I was.  The tweets near by give for most interesting viewing that basically confirmed what I already suspected.  Only an Idiot would have been shopping in the Metrocentre today.

And this was the Metrocentre…

I should complain to much… I’m heading there myself tomorrow.

New Game

I’ve been trying to hunt down a game for my iPhone for some time now; but have not found anything that has dragged me in. The new GTA game almost got me to shell out; however after a bit of delibaration I decided that the in game controls just don’t look great.

So the question was what else? Without anything standing out at me I thought I would go old school. After searching for “Amiga” in the app store I found the old platform game “Flashback” but was worried that it would suck into my working day to much. Pinball however you can jump in and out the game quickly.

If you don’t remember the game don’t bother; but for all you people that spent so much time playing it that your “shift” key stopped working…. Pinball

Stuck on a train…. FUN?

So it was a trip down to Bristol today.  Five hours.  That’s how long the journey takes from Newcastle to Bristol.  Not 2 hours or even 3 hours…. its take Five. 1, 2, 3, 4, FIVE.  I know this due to the five dull and torturous hours I spent on a train…. to Bristol.  Why so dull.  NO WiFi.  They should stick big sticker on the side of trains letting you know who has WiFi and who doesn’t, I would have got on another train if I had known before hand.  I may have even binned the whole thing off flown down.

And what did I have to look forward to once I got into Bristol after a torturous trip.  My Hotel room.

You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.
