Most Useless Machine Ever

It’s day off time tomorrow so I figured I would make today’s blog post a nice and easy affair. What better way of trying to find some interesting crap on the internet than to cheat; just press the Stumble button attached to my web browser.

After a number of interesting videos and sites about fonts I came across “the most useless machine ever!” and found that I was completely fascinated and amused by it.

Full credit for this amazing find must goes to Erdëm GULTEKIN

If anyone know where I can get one please let me know.

Evenings entertainment – Legend

My entertainment for this evening the cult classic Film Legend.

I’ve always had fond memory’s of the film from being a kid most notably the image of the Devil in it has stuck with me.  Tim Curry as the Devil is without a shadow of a doubt how I would expect the evil man to look and sound if I was to meet him in person.

Every time I watch the film I notice something new about it like the first time I realised that Tom Cruise was the main character (after this he starred in Top Gun) or how visually impressive it is considering it was made back in 1985.

I’m no film geek; I don’t know the name of most actors or even the names of some films so don’t judge me when I tell you what I noticed for the first time today.  Tonight I noticed the Director of it…. The Great Ridley Scott.  Director of two of the best SiFi films ever made; first Alien then my favourite; Blade Runner.  He followed that up with Legend.

If you haven’t seen it yet do yourself  a favour and get over to play.com and order it…. Its worth the five English pounds they are asking then let me know what you think:

Let me introduce you to my boys

For Christmas this year my girl treated me to some new baby boys.  My very own carnivorous plants to grow into bloody thirsty killers.

I wish I could say that the picture above is a pictures of the boys so far; but unfortunately it isn’t.  As yet they have not shown there little faces they are just hiding under a thin layer of compost.  I planted them on New Year day so it going to be about another two weeks before I get to see what they looks like. I’ll keep you in the loop; but for now let me introduce you to the boys:

11/365

I’m already on my 11th day of my very own version of a post 365 and I though I would explain what the rules are.

I regularly post images to my site via my Flickr account and have done so for some time.  More recently I have started to post my You Tube clips and also AudioBoo’s to the site.  The problem I always have when it come to posting content; consistency.  At times I would fall into the habit of not posting anything for weeks at a time.  Its about time I set myself a challenge.  So the rules are simple…

  1. One Post per day minimum.
  2. Content can be any of the following
    • Video (No live streams)
    • Image with commentary
    • Audio
    • Written views or reviews
  3. Content must be recorded, taken or written on the day. (written commentary for video and image can be written later to allow for time restrictions)

Lets see how I get on.

Lines on your face

Lines on your face

This is a shot taken on one of the Newcastle Photo Walk just before my birthday last year.

I normally skip over photo’s of my friends when deciding what to put online. I managed to take this just before the obligatory “pull a funny face for the camera” started.

I spent a little bit of time deciding if I should go with the black and white or color version of this shot and in doing so I started to notice that my friend is getting older. I’m not saying that he’s getting on a bit (before you start kicking off Adam) and even if he was I’m older so that would mean I’m screwed!

My point is that you often spend so much time just getting on with things that you forget how much older your are. I remember a time when the drunken weekends of partying seemed like they were only a few weeks ago, in reality they are closer to 10 years ago.

Its not till your face starts to shows the lines of laughter or stress that you notice just how far you have come. Luckily for Adam its all smiles and laughter.

Anti Black Technology

When it comes to developing software technology’s a certain level of testing is expected before you sign it off for release. Hewlett-Packard however forgot to test some minor issues with its new web cam face tracking software.

It just doesn’t like black people.

Despite the glich in the software; I have to say that it looks like a great feature to have on a web cam; just as long as your not black.

365ing the 365’s

The great thing about attempting a post everyday for 365 days is that when you run out of things to post about you can just post about somebody else that is a bit 365ish while posting a random picture of some stuff that was left in your shop.

Paul Smith travel writer and twitter own Twitchhiker is attempting a AudioBoo 365 and being a radio man it does it well.

Paul J White is coming to the end of an original Project 365 on Flickr with some great shots.

This one is with out a shadow of a doubt the most fun 365 I have ever seen.  If you havn’t seen it yet make yourself a cuppa head back to day one and be introduced to one of my favourite daily fixes.  Duck365.  Great job Alistair.

Absolutely Necessary

It’s been an interesting week so far with the crazy snow while working in the Metrocentre; it has shown me that there are some crazy people out there. When the most people woke up this morning they would have seen the TV news, listened to the radio or read in the newspapers “Do not travel unless absolutely necessary”.
Don’t get me wrong I have a business to run and for me to hit my targets I need people to hit the shopping centre and buy stuff. The number of people that had turned up to ask “how do I get in touch with customer services” and “how do I check the balance on my phone” if not exactly what I would call “necessary”. The prize of the day however goes to a guy that traveled 25 miles from Hexham to the Metrocentre to buy a screen protector for his mobile phone before heading back to the car park to drive home.
Certainly not “absolutely necessary”!
